Bit the bullet and sat my Java exam today, despite a heavy dosage of nervousness and not feeling too well. I can fully enjoy my weekend this way, (did I mention I'm not working Saturday? *glee*) without a looming Monday exam hanging over my head.

I found it much easier than the mock exams - I only used two out of the three and a half hours available - and I should find out how I went once Mal marks it tomorrow. Hopefully they'll be a little more lenient than usual as well, seeing as I'm the first person to sit the exams for the new module. :P

I do, however, have that horrible sinking feeling that I might not have read one of the practical questions properly. I did check over everything twice though, so hopefully not. We'll see. It'd be nice to A+ this one and make it straight grades for all the programming units.

Off to Tansawa Tei for some Japanese cuisine and a few celebratory drinks with my uncle and immediate family tonight, then a marathon "Penn & Teller's Bullshit!" session with [info]dahnna afterwards. It's good to be me.

While I remember, we'll be hiring another casual at EB Games Hay Street shortly, if any of you are interested in a casual retail position - so drop in those resumes.

For the love of god though, don't make the same mistake that 95% of applicants do and mention that you are an avid gamer in your application. It'll work against you. Stress any sales experience you have. Maybe mention that you own certain consoles. That's it.

We've been going to Tansawa Tei for years - Johnny does fantastic traditional Japanese. You do pay a fair amount for it - but it's not ridiculously expensive, and they look after you very well.

It's one of the few places in Perth that serves sashimi grade raw beef. The Beef No Tataki is a must. It's unbelievable stuff.
